Hot New Tools for Schools in 2015

We hope you made it to the Roland/BOSS booth at the recent NAMM show to check out the latest innovations in music technology for education. If you weren’t able to see them in person, take a look below to see what we had at the show…

HS-5 Session Mixer

Roland’s HS-5 Session Mixer maximizes your rehearsal space and teaching time while empowering your students in independent and group learning situations. With the HS-5, multiple ensembles and sections can rehearse at the same time and in the same location. Students can work together on headphones, and each student is able to control their own mix independently. Plug in your mics and instruments, and add onboard effects for vocals, guitars, and more. You can even record directly to a USB memory stick and send multitrack audio to your favorite computer software.

Carrying the rich heritage of the Roland CUBE amp family, the CUBE-10GX Guitar Amplifier delivers incredible tone and versatility in a compact, rugged package built for education. It features three great-sounding amp types, along with a host of onboard effects and a three-band EQ. Plus, with the free CUBE KIT app, you can download new amp types into the CUBE-10GX, including a bass amp. By plugging headphones into the Rec Out/Phones jack and a music player into the Aux In, students can practice silently anytime and anywhere.

DigiScore

Roland’s HPi-50e Digital Piano is the ultimate interactive platform for music education. Not just for piano students, the HPi-50e incorporates music lessons and exercises into a game-like environment for teaching everything from note reading and ear training to composition and recording. Via the hi-res 10-inch display built into the music rest, Roland’s DigiScore® technology provides dynamic notation for hundreds of internal songs that follow the player and provide instant feedback for faster learning.

Roland’s TD-1K V-Drums® kit is the ideal drum set for private lessons and classroom learning, but it’s also perfectly suited for ensemble and performance use. With pads and pedals that respond to standard techniques and a wide variety of ultra-realistic sounds, players can create a full range of expression and dynamics in any environment. Quickly and easily move from band room to field and select sounds to match. Practice on headphones with the built-in Rhythm Coach, connect to computers with USB, build skills with Roland’s DT-1 V-Drums Tutor software, plug in a music player and jam with practice tracks, and more!
